How do we collect your data?
We have your email and name because you because you signed up to participate in Imagine 2019, or you joined the Becoming-U mailing list. When you fill out a Contact Form on our website, we use the information provided to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us.
We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to other parties. We don't keep any other information about you apart from your email and name for mailing purposes.
Why do we collect the data?
We collect this information to share with you how to interact with Imagine 2019 while it is live, to share news of the Becoming-U community, and from time to time, to share news from the Hosts. We will not share this information with any other third parties.
When you join Imagine 2019 or the Becoming-U community, we may contact you via email to send updates and relevant news, talk about new programs, projects, or services, and/or invite you to contact us. We may also contact you via email to tell you about changes to this privacy policy.
When you join our list, we keep your data in our email platform (MailChimp) until you request that we remove your name and other data about you. You may change your preferences or unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email we send.
Is it protected?
Your information is securely kept on databases that are hosted by a data protection compliant service provider. We protect your data. However, part of the support for the Summit includes other vendors like Paypal, Xing and Constant Contact and our e-commerce gateway, etc. They have their own secure sites and privacy policies for which we are not responsible.
Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, Xing, Constant Contact or other event registrars). If you have questions about how one of our partners is using your data, contact that partner.
Cookies
We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. If you register for our free newsletter, the data requested from you for this purpose, i.e. your email address and, optionally, your name and address, will be processed by The Rocket Science Group. In addition, your IP address and the date and time of your registration will be saved. During the registration process, your consent to receive this newsletter will be obtained together with a concrete description of the type of content it will offer and reference made to this privacy policy.
The newsletter then sent out by The Rocket Science Group will also contain a tracking pixel called a web beacon. This pixel helps us evaluate whether and when you have read our newsletter and whether you have clicked any links contained therein. Shariff social media buttons
Our website uses the plug-ins of the following social networks. To integrate these plug-ins, we use the Shariff plug-in.
The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website.
Shariff is an open source program developed by c’t and heise. By integrating this plug-in, linked graphics prevent the following social network plug-ins from automatically establishing a connection to the respective social networks server when you visit website(s) on which the plug-ins are integrated. Only if you click on one of these linked graphics will you be forwarded to the service of the respective social network. Only then will information about your use of our site be recorded by the respective social network. This information may include your IP address, the date and time you visited our site, as well as the pages you viewed.
If you are logged in to one of the social network services while visiting one of our plugged-in websites, the information collected by the plug-in from your specific visit will be recognized by the provider of that social network and assigned to your personal user account there and/or publish information about your interaction with our site there. If, for example, you use the a share button for the social network, this information may be stored in your user account there and published on the platform of the respective social network provider. To prevent this, you must either log out of the social network before clicking the graphic or make the appropriate settings in your social network account.
